I am past sick and tired of having to click the "not now" notification window.

i see mozilla has removed the option to turn off notifications, and i'm irate at the direction mozilla is taking with this.

case in point, i updated recently and some idgit at mozilla decided "hey, let's completely change the control panel, look, all settings, and everything else!..."

i am one step from deleting firefox from all my devices...I'VE HAD IT

if i can't choose how and when i want to update, then forget it....i'm DONE with firefox...

oh, and the jerks that wiped out all of my settings in the last update?...you can go [ahem] yourselves

How do you completely turn off update checks in Firefox 64? You can use a policies.json file to disable updates for all users. https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/blob/master/README.md

kistenmaker said Or, as a friend of mine suggested, simply delete the updater.exe. Without it the browser won't be able to update, no matter how hard it tries.

Great solution. In my instance I renamed that file _updater.exe and is no longer accessed.
