How can I disable url previews that pop up when the cursor hovers over url links (say, on a wikipedia page)?

Bring up a wikipedia web page. Hover cursor over blue url link. Link underlines immediately and seconds later pops up an annoying display to cover nearby area. How can I disable this (IMHO) terrible distracting functionality? - Thanks

Such pop-ups are generated by JavaScript on a web page. Maybe a content blocking extension can suppress these pop-ups on hover. It should also be possible to hide them via code in userContent.css.

Add code to the userContent.css file.
