Type about:preferences#security<enter> in the address bar. Look under Logins,

Note: For Firefox v56+ its; about:preferences#privacy Look under Forms & Passwords +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Turn on Remember Logins. To check the passwords you have listed, press Saved Logins.

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.

Resetting the sync password, or changing its e-mail, will remove all data from the servers.

This is a security feature. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/ive-lost-my-firefox-sync-account-information

  • I've lost my Firefox Sync account information - What to do
  • I’ve forgotten, or don't have access to, my Firefox Account email address

Shut down the old sync. Then create a new account.

When you are in Logins & Passwords > Saved Logins look to this "site" https://accounts.firefox.com when you click Show Passwords. That will be the most recent Password you have for your Firefox Account.

If you go to the sync panel and select 'Forgot Reset,' only the data on the servers is removed. The data on your computers are not affected.

Close the sync account. After, create a new one. Leave Firefox open long enough for the sync to be set up.

The Sync key was used in the previous Sync version ()1.0. In the current Sync version (1.5) the sync key is derived internally from the password, so you (only) need to know this password to be able to access the Sync account. Otherwise disconnect all devices that reset the password. Then reconnect the device that still has this data and make sure to wait long enough for the initial Sync to finish to refresh the data on the server. The connect the other device and see if that restore the data from the Sync server.
