I have 4 email accounts on my computer-win 10, and cannot get emails in any one.
When I access my thunderbird email accounts on Shaw, this message appears:
Mail Server password required. Enter your password for rchilliak on imap.shaw.ca. I have tried every PW I can think of and have had no success in signing in. This applies to my win 10 computer. I have no problems accessing my emails in my ipad or my macbook pro.

I think you have to use a 'strong' password to access with TB, even if a 'weak' password works with a mobile device.

Also, the User name for the account should be just the part before the @ in your address. imap.shaw.ca on port 993, SSL/TLS, normal password authentication; outgoing mail.shaw.ca on port 587, STARTTLS, normal password authentication.
Edit or delete obsolete passwords in Tools/Options/Security/Passwords.
Tried all that was suggested - still cannot get emails to my computer.
I have a Shaw IMAP account working with the settings stated above and a password with 4 numbers and 8 letters. Try turning off your security/AV program while adding the account in case it's blocking the process.
