cannot download any files
After opening my laptop since last night I can no longer download any files with Firefox. It only says it failed. I've tried some solutions mentioned like: - Firefox SafeMode - Firefox refresh - Reinstall Firefox - Clear cache and download
But as of yet not one of these solutions has worked. It is really annoying because there are no problems with the other browsers like (Edge and Chrome) and yesterday it worked fine.
Any other solutions I could try?

We have been getting a lot of complaints about this.
Reboot the computer. Anything?
This download manager works separately from the
browser. The browser tells it what to download,
and off it goes.
http://www.freedownloadmanager.org It is a powerful modern download accelerator and organizer for Windows and Mac.
I've tried to reboot it as well Updated Windows as well. Also tried it without and with VPN but does not make a difference.
It is just super weird because it worked this morning and now all of the sudden it is down.
hi, is your device/account somehow protected by windows parental controls?
the problem you're seeing is likely https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1586228 which is currently under investigation...
Hi
No unlikely seeing this is my own private laptop and account that is not connected to other people/family group.
But the link you sent (thanks for that) does show they are working hard on the problem so I will just be patient and any files that needed to be downloaded will just be done by Chrome.
can you take a look in the registry of the affected system if there's a "Users" folder existing at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Parental Controls?
you can open the registry editor by pressing the windows-key+r and opening "regedit"...
Hi
Yes there exists a folder there. Do I need to remove that user/folder?
yes, please try to right-click and export it first in order to back it up and then delete the user key/folder.
Modified
Hi,
I do not seem to be able to delete the file in the user map. I get an error.
any difference when you search for "regedit" in the start menu, right-click the program to launch it with admin rights and then try to perform the same steps?
Hi,
I'm afraid it didn't do the trick. Still not able to delete the userfile in the map users

Hi,
So apparently my account was connected to a family group. Still not sure how this impacted the download options because I've never checked it before but I'm assuming it always was connected long before
However, after removing myself and restarting my laptop it seemed to do the trick and I can download again with Firefox
Thanks for your help
