I've already tried a refresh of the browser and used safe mode. I figured out that the hardware acceleration enabled probably caused the lag while scrolling even through light weight websites. I turned hardware acceleration off and experienced no problems any longer. But I'd appreciate to be able to to use it again. I don't know what caused the problem, as it started in the last days. There hasn't been any updates that I know of at least, has there?

If turning hardware acceleration off fixed it, then why would you want to turn it back on? Generally, issues that are resolved by turning it on or off, don't really impact the general use of the feature, it's just kind of a toggle that sometimes resolves issues and sometimes doesn't, in my experience with it.

Well, mostly it fixed the problem, yes. I'm not an expert on this topic, but to have hardware acceleration benefits cpu performance in some tasks, doesn't it? while testing my browsing performance further I still notice a certain lag and performance decrease to what I was used to. In safari or chrome I don't have these problems, but I prefer rather not to use them anymore. I was very happy about using firefox after several years of using other browsers. For some reason there is a problem and I really want to find the cause.
