Search does not search within all e-mail accounts / archive folders.
Hello,
i have strange issues with the search function of Thunderbird. It seems it does not find archived e-mails correctly. My workflow is that i like to keep my inbox clean so all e-mails that are answered or not needed anymore i move to the archive (i configured thunderbird so that when i delete emails they are moved to archive which is a great function).
But now the problem is that the Search function from top right corner of thunderbird (CTRL+K) does not search within the archive folders.
So i use the CTRL+Shift+F search function but in there i need to select the mailbox first, click on the Main folder (not inbox) and then i also need to choose in the window below where should be searched (subject, from, Content...) that is really complicated and not efficient.
If i don't know in which e-mail account the email is stored for which im looking for then it takes me a lot of time to search for one e-mail.
It would be great if there is a solution so thunderbird would just take all accounts and all folders of each account even the archive into account during a search. Is this possible somehow?
I am sure i am not the first one with this issue or how do you proceed when you want to search for a e-mail that could be stored in any of many accounts?
Thank you

If you right-click an archive folder, Properties, is the box checked for 'Include... in Global Search results'?
Does rebuilding the database make any difference?

Thanks for your answer. I just checked this and saw that the global search is checked for the 2019 archive folder but was not for the 2020 folder so i checked it and rebuilt the index now.
After that all works fine. Thank you very much. Now i can use the global search at the top (CTRL+K) and it finds all the e-mails :)
