error message about server disconnected, but keeps working generally

often thunderbird will give the message imap..... yahoo disconnected, server may be down. keep getting this message but thunderbird keeps working. no idea why.

Try to limit the no. of cached connections to the server.

At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button > Account Settings > Server Settings > Advanced

Set 'Maximum number of server connections to cache' to 3.
