How to view/import an .mbox file in Thunderbird

I have an archived .mbox file from my old gmail account that is closed. The .mbox file is 23.6 MB (so I cannot import it into a new free gmail account that only goes up to about 15MB). But I do not need to import it into a new gmail or other email account, and no need to upload it anywhere else.

I ONLY need to access and read the archive on my computer.

I have installed Thunderbird 102.1.1 and I followed the prompts to create an account which seems to link it to my current free gmail account (which I don't need or necessarily want).

Under add-ons, I have added and enabled "ImportExportTools NG" but I don't see how to use this tool to import or access my mbox file.

I am not savvy with this program and do not find any of them menus to be intuitive, so simple instructions and no abbreviations would be very much appreciated.

When I go to the far right menu, and I click Tools>Import, I see no options to import an .mbox file.

At this point, how do I import or view the .mbox file using Thunderbird and the Import/Export?

Thank you very much!
