I don't understand your problem, but Thunderbird stores passwords at tools>settings>privacy&security. Thunderbird 'knows' your password, so that explains my confusion. If what Thunderbird has isn't working, then I don't know why you want it. But that is just my confusion. I hope this info gives you what you need.

Has Thunderbird been updated today (2nd October 2022)? Suddenly it can't connect to my email server and I can't even find where the email password is stored to check it is correct. Help!!!

As mentioned, passwords are stored at tools>settings>privacy&Security. Click 'saved passwords' and then click 'show passwords.'
