After updating macOS to Ventura 13.3.1(a) on my MacBook (Apple M1 Pro) launching Thunderbird 102.10.1 takes almost 15sec..Before it was not even 1sec...Launching in debugging mode...emptying cache..not faster. Launching TB 102.10.1 on my old MacBook 2013 (10.13) works fast and fine..Why not under Ventura 13.3.1(a)?

Solved. Disable Thunderbird accsessing Apple Contacts (Privacy..). Not required under older macOS..

Same problem with MacOS Sonoma 14.0 and: over 1000 contacts in my MacOS Contacts directory. Depending to my internet connection it takes 20 - 60 sec to startup Thunderbird. It seems TB is waiting for the Apple Contacts.

After disabling the access, like St78 describes it, startup time is about 5 sec!

On the other side - i need my contacts. So the apple directory should be loaded a synchronously. The problem exists since MacOS Ventura.
