"Enter" don't execute search in Firefox

more options

Today 05-08-2023 when useing Firefox, im no longer able to use enter key to execute a simple google search. But it works fine on Edge. I don't want to be forced to switch to Edge, how to i fix it?? it just happened randomly. More precisely it's the center of screen search-bar that don't work. I can still use the standard (top) search-bar

I have already tried to update it, close it, nothing works. And i would really like to not lose all my settings by uninstalling it.

Making a new response so you hopefully see it:

Do you have the AdBlocker Ultimate extension by any chance? I just turned mine off and enter is working with the google search bar as it should be! (Consequently it was also the reason my youtube video's weren't playing)

I have the same problem! The google search bar works in a private window and other search engines but not in a normal firefox window.

I can confirm uninstalling and reinstalling didn't fix it, I also cleared my cache and did every troubleshooting thing I could think of but it didn't change anything

Edit: Do you have the AdBlocker Ultimate extension by any chance? I just turned mine off and enter is working with the google search bar as it should be! (Consequently it was also the reason my youtube video's weren't playing)

Having the same issue. Started between 8/4 and 8/5/2023. Also confirmed it's AdBlocker Ultimate that is causing the issue with some website functionality. AdBlocker Ultimate DOES work in Chrome. Works as normal with Extension Disabled in Firefox.

I also got the same problem and confirm it's ad block ultimate. it is also making me not rendering page/video properly.

I confirm this too - AdBlocker Ultimate is a root cause. Many other web pages (e-shops, strava, YT,..) are not working properly either. The FF version I have now is: 116.0.1 (64-bit), AdBlocker Version: 3.7.28. Last update of filters were done on Last update: 5th August, 1:30 (probably local time GMT+2).

Browsing net without AdBlocker is pain, hopefully guys will fix that soon.

This is also happening with uBlock Origin ad blocker. Really frustrating.

Edit: It could be a filter issue?

I resolved it by disabling the "Absolute Mode" of the Firefox plugins "Absolute Enable Right Click & Copy" as picture attached. Thanks.
