We deploy Firefox via a software called Pulseway and last night it reinstalled Firefox over the current installation for one of our users. When he logged in this morning, all his data was missing from the browser as it appears to be a fresh installation. I'm unable to find his previous profile in the AppData folders (checked by going to about:profiles and opened each profile). There is no backup for this info, and he did not have a Sync account set up. Is there anywhere else I could possible recover this data for the user? Thanks in advance.

Chosen solution

kelley5, are there any other profile folders on the hard drive besides those listed in about:profiles?

For example, if in File Explorer you go to: %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles then are there any other folders here that are not referenced in about:profiles?

Or if you search the hard drive for files such as "places.sqlite" or "favicons.sqlite", then are there any found in folders that are not llisted? (you may need to unhide hidden files and folders before searching)

If there are any such additional folders, then hopefully one of these is the original profile folder.

I must have missed the old profile (edit: it was in the AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles directory) - I found it by checking the bookmarksbackup folders on each device. I was unable to load the old profile because the new Firefox install was Firefox ESR and the profile was from the regular Firefox. As it turned out I was able copy over the relevant files from that to a new profile created by Firefox ESR and everything appears to be restored. I appreciate the help, thank you!
