Earlier, when I closed my Firefox with multiple active tabs, and then restarted Firefox, even in the absence of Internet connection, the pages would load, perhaps from cache. But now the pages don't automatically load from cache and I get the message Problem loading page, asking me to uncheck the "Work Offline" menu.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

== When I updated from Firefox 3.5 to 3.6, and came back because the later version did not load from cache. But after reverting, even version 3.5 does not load from cache

Check the Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox settings.

Make sure that you not run Firefox in Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode. In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and some features like visited links and others are disabled and not working. You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing". See Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history
