while browsing through image results on google the tab redirected itself to ***** where it asked to download a new firefox update. This update was repored to be containing a malicious software by windows malicious software removal tool. Also the website looks fake.

Yes. That website is fake. When the site is accessed, a rogue anti-virus software attempts to install. You can read an article about it here. Report the page by going to Help | Report Web Forgery. I will also let the people who are looking into this scam know about this link.
