I have this problem too. What I did was, I uninstalled Firefox, then noticed that whenever I tried scanning for viruses, it would always freeze up when scanning the FireFox files under C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Roaming, particularly on one called cookies.sqlite. By 'freeze up,' I mean that both the program (and even the alternate program I tried) and my computer froze/crashed.

So I went through and deleted all the Mozilla files in that file and in the C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Local file, just to be safe. These cleared up nearly 1GB of space on my computer, startlingly enough. Anyway, I haven't re-downloaded Firefox (have switched over to Chrome and am comfortable enough), but hopefully this might help someone.
