On opening Firefox, I am constantly directed to "BearShare.com" as my homepage, and I can't alter this by changing to my desired homepage, which is "Google.com".

After downloading a music download program from "BearShare.com", whenever I open Firefox, I am directed to the Bearshare site for my web searching. I want to have Google as my homepage, but even when I use "tools", I can't reset my homepage. I have removed all of the BearShare program, but it still happens. I have done a MacAfee virus scan. How can I get rid of "BearShare"?

See:

You can look for a "Mediabar" program under "Control Panel > Programs and features"

Finally got rid of the annoying bear by re-installing the programme, and then going through the correct "uninstall" procedures, rather than just deleting files & folders. I uninstalled Bearshare & Mediabar, yet still found files associated with Bearshare on my computer when I did a "search" for Bearshare. Deleted them all bar one. I found one folder I could not delete, and on exploring it, found an uninstall feature for it. All good now. Thank all. Cheers, Mike
