I am using an older version of firefox because 5.0 has a conflict with my google tool bar, so until there is no longer a problem I have to continue to use an older version. I don't understand why there can't be the google toolbar!

Google needs to update the Google Toolbar program for Firefox 5.0.

The Google Toolbar 7.1.20110512W version does work pretty good in Firefox 5.0 by using the Compatibility Reporter extension. But not every feature works 100%. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/

does saving browsing history work in Firefox 5 correctly?

For some reason Firefox 5 conflicts with about everything. According to information I was able to research, Mozilla is not doing any fixes for Firefox 5. I couldn't even access the Net using Firefox after doing the Firefox 5 "upgrade".

Try using Mozilla's site or go to cnet.com and download Firefox 6 (now available). It fixed ALL of my problems. Hopefully, it will fix yours.
