I downloaded Firefox to my Windows 7 laptop. There was no icon put on my desktop, so I went to the Programs list from the Start button. I couldn't find it there either. When I click on a web link in an email, I can open Firefox so I know it's on my machine. How can I get the icon to appear on my desktop? This is a Toshiba laptop. I have McAfee but it hasn't complained about anything.

Look for "Mozilla Firefox"

If you don't see it there go to c:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\ then right-click on firefox.exe and choose something like pin to Start Menu

Then you can drag to the desktop or your Quick Launch.
