When I start Firefox 6.0, it looks for updates, opens two tabs -- my homepage and a Firefox tab stating "Your Firefox is up to date".

When Firefox 6.0 opens, it looks for updates, even though I have turned this feature off.

In previous versions of Firefox, when I started it up it only opened one page, which I set to my homepage. Now, I get two tabs. The first is my homepage, and the second one, which is on top, is a Firefox page with the statement "Your Firefox is up to date." This is very annoying.
