Recently started getting prompts for a password to view certain websites (Netflix, News Articles etc.). A bar pops up that says "is this really where you want to go? Content Matched: Anime..."

then if I click the option button I have the option to temporarily allow the page or add it to my whitelist. However, a password protection box opens and asks for a password. I have never set any password on my firefox and I would like to know how to reset it so I don't have this issue any more. Thank you for your help.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
