when I click to send an e-mail that is on a certain web page top of firefox starts blinking and that e-maill show on tabs across the top and nothing happens

If I'm on a website and they have a send to e-mail box, when I click the e-mail box the top of firefox starts blinking and a tabs with that e-mail go across the tops of screen, blinking continues until I have to shut computor down to restore.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).


You may have switched on caret browsing.

You can press press F7 (on Mac: fn + F7) to toggle caret browsing on/off.
