Firefox cannot be reinstalled, extracted file than disappeared. 3. Removed all internet browsers, made virus and malvare scans reseted winsock, IP and network. 4. Could reinstal IE8 and Safari and they seem to work. 5. With Firefox I have the same problem: setup (8, 9 and 10) extracts files then disappears.

You will need to Reinstall Firefox because your previous Installation did not end properly or it got Corrupted.

Check and tell if its working.

I always tried with a clean installation. In the meantime I have realized that the problem is more serious. None of the setup.exe file will start. If I rename them and set also the consequent names they work. So something blocks the execution of images named setup.exe

more options

right-click the setup.exe file and click Properties (see the attached screenshot)

  • at the bottom of the Properties window, click the Unblock button and click OK
  • Now Install Firefox using the suggestions mentioned in this article -> How to install Firefox on Windows

Check and tell if its working.

There is no "unblock" in the Properties box (see attached). I have to add that it happens with every "setup.exe" not only with Firefox. Some could be launched by renaming them.

Check your Anti-virus and other Security software's settings (or Disable it) to see if they are restricting .exe files from executing.
