I am building a Firefox installation for use within our organisation. I have disabled the ability to install addons. But if you search for an addon using the Add-ons Manager, you can still install the addons!! I need to switch this off.

If I try and install an addon from addons.mozilla.org or a featured addon within the Add-ons Manager, it tells me "Software installation has been disabled by System Administrator" which is correct. But if I search for the addon within the Add-on manager, it allows me to install it. I need to stop this.

There is some information here about installing extensions and excluding installation locations, but I don't know if you can exclude installing via the search bar.
