Firefox keeps crashing, and adobe plugin crashing, too?

So, for a few days now, Firefox has been extremely touchy. It would crash at random times, but now, it crashes whenever I try to type something. It has gotten progressively worse. Also, I cannot play videos, as "Adobe Plugin has crashed". This isn't just once or twice. This is every video on every site. Please help!

If it's of any correlation, I was getting bluescreens and such earlier.

do the crashes also appear when you run firefox in safemode? also make sure that your symantec security software isn't blocking/sandboxing Firefox or its plugin-container that is used to run flash videos.

you can also try to uninstall flash and then download the full installer from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ again (uncheck the bundeled security software offered)

Yes, the crashes do appear in safe mode. (I also just resolved the issue with Flash) But Firefox is still being difficult. How do I check for that?

can you post some of your other report ids from about:crash that are not flash related crashes? if firefox crashes in safemode too you might want to try disabling hardware acceleration in tools > options > advanced > general.

And ok, did that. It still crashes when I try to type.

this crash signature is very uncommon, so i cannot give you any immediate reasons/advices from that. but please try to configure norton 360 as it described in this help article.

another thing to look for would be plugins since they stay enabled in safemode. can you go to firefox > addons manager > plugins & disable all plugins in there, then restart the browser & see if the problem still persists? if not re-enable them one by one to find out what might be causing the crashes.

I am a webdesigner and developer. I always use firefox for building sites. One day I opened Firefox and from that day is crashing all the time. I open firefox and after 30 seconds will crash for sure ... also when I am building my site Stoixima on my local enviroment is crashing too when I preview my site ... I unistall it and later install again and is keep crashing ... all the other browsers play good ...

I am very upset cause I love FIREFOX ... specially when I am creating my websites ...

@xxToxxinxx: the last two things to try that come to my mind is to fully remove & reinstall your norton security software. And you could create a new profile in firefox and see if that works.

This report also contains technical information about the state of the application when it crashed.

If that helps!

I will lock this thread as it is a couple of months old and deals with a very specific crash problem. Reading it may be confusing given the current state of FlashPlayer problems and solutions, and others are in danger of posting unrelated support questions here, which may fail to receive attention.

If anyone has problems please start your own thread. Use the link /questions/new

Note some users of Flash 11.3 on Firefox windows may be experiencing crashes and other problems. I posted some links about such problems and the workaounds in the thread /questions/932077#answer-351526

Hi betinstyle,

This article gives tips for Crashes, and also explains how to navigate to about:crashes where you will find the Crash IDs.

Please read that article and post a couple of crash IDs in a new thread if you are not able to solve the problem yourself. Use the link [/questions/new]

Or the link in the above linked article.
