I installed a new system for a colleague and added Firefox 13 as the browser.

She has had issues downloading the ROES software for a couple of online print companies, with the error messages suggesting it was flash that was needed.

I disabled any flash blockers and installed the newest Java and Flash.

It still would not work and was still saying flash was not installed and needed upgrading.

I downloaded the flash active X addon with no change. I downloaded Shockwave with no change.

In a fit of pique I downloaded flash for Google Chrome and hey presto, Firefox started working a treat.

I uninstalled Chrome and Firefox once again would not display flash content.

I then installed flash for IE9 and again Firefox worked fine, which is now how I have left it.

I would be interested if anyone who is having trouble with Firefox and flash, tries downloading it for another browser and then see's if FF and flash start playing nicely together.

Thanks for the reply. I don't have access to the PC again until later this week to try those, but I just can't see that being the issue. The effect is that with a default FF+Flash install, the java downloader to let me install the ROES software needed for the print companies product, just throws an instant error. That would initially point to Java being the problem, (fully up to date) but as soon as I install Flash in either IE9 or Chrome, FF then works fine, which tells me it's a FF/Flash glitch.
