how come there is no option to hot key command to open a clicked link in a background window?? like opera offers

more options

I switched from opera to FF due to there crashing issues. Opera has a option where you ctrl+shift+left click and that allows you to open a window in the background. Not being a tab user I was wondering if there is a option to make this option available? I am using version 15.01 on windows Vista.

That should be working in Firefox as well.

The Shift key inverts the default that you set in the Options > Tab window

  • Tools > Options > Tabs: "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately"

This also works with a middle-click: Shift plus middle-click opens a link in the background if the default is to switch to it.

Thanks for the response.

It works if I want to open a tab in the background but not a clicked link into a background window.
