Firefox crashes in Yahoo Classic Email everytime with any add-on enabled, does not matter which add-on it happens with any of them. The task manager shows high memory usage of Firefox over 100.000kb and high memory for plug-in container.exe also in windows task manager. If the plug-in container.exe is not running the crash does not happen and verified multiple times. Copied into troubleshooting section is the appcompat.txt from the crash that windows logged & sent to microsoft error collection site.

We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox location bar (that's where you enter your website names) and press Enter. You should now see a list of submitted crash reports.
  2. Copy the most recent 5 report IDs that you see in the crash report window and paste them into your forum response.

Thanks in advance for your help!

More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.

You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:

  • disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
  • disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

I believe the problem was in flash player since when I was listening to a myspace music player that uses flash.....it said I had an old version after a few minutes it told me to update on firefox and internet explorer and I did. After that and also resetting my hosts file all is good no hiccups as of doing both those things. So it definitely was old version of flash player embedded in the pc even though both browsers had the up to date plug-ins installed before using the myspace music player that adverted to update the PC.

Was having problems again........Followed what was said in your flash player links.......and 10.3 flash player absolutely fixed the issue. I used the cleaner tool for flash player and then installed 10.3 to solved the issue with yahoo email freezing. Please mark this as resolved.
