Looks as if you have just used the option to hide the navigation toolbar.
It will probably temporarily re-appear if you push the keyboard Alt key. You may set it to display by using (I think - not in Windows myself)
- Firefox Button -> Toolbars-> Navigation Toolbar

Hi chubb3g114, do you want to get the old version of firefox ?
Have a look at install-older-version-of-firefox
Maybe it helps if you
- include a screen shot
- say what you are looking at, is it only a specific wepage ?
- say what has changed that you do not like
''''Hi Thanks for your reply. I have included a screen shot of a web page ,as you can see there is no address bar no back button no refresh button and no small search box. Just to post this reply I have had to open at least 8 pages because there is no back button. David ''''

Thanks John, that's exactly what happened.

Thanks for posting back David.
Glad we helped without you needing to resort to downgrading to an insecure version of Firefox.
I have several tabs open(this is normal for me)(1 for email, 2 weather, 3 twitter etc) and now, within the month, whenever I am switching between tabs the browser does a split tab showing two tabs in one. Any one know how to disable the layout feature?
Modified
Opening in the sidebar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.
You can check the Properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the sidebar (Ctrl+B; Command+B on Mac).
In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right.
Make sure that "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" is not selected.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
Your saying that it is a sidebar thing. I know when I click on Tile>Close Layout it closes the split screen and brings me back to one website per tab. But I will check it out. Thanks for the info.
