I was downloading windows 8.1 preview. After around 2.1 gb of downloading i paused it. I shutdown my pc and within few hours when i turned it on for restartinh the download, the file had disappeared from my downloads library. I tried restarting mozilla and pc but its not appearing in the library. The partially downloaded file is in my downloads folder with a 0 byte size. I somehow want it back in my library so that i can resume it. My current OS is windows 8 pro and firefox version is 23.0.1.

Pausing a download does not save the download in your download library. This means that when you close Firefox, all progress is removed.

The pausing downloads feature is no longer available in the latest version of Firefox.

Sorry.

Note that Pause and Resume can be found in the right-click context menu of an item (toolbar drop-down list).

Do you have the .part file or only the (final) file with a byte count of 0 bytes?

If the .part file and doesn't have the expected file size (2 GB) is missing then you won't be able to resume this download anyway. You can check the temp folder as well.
