Apparently on 11/10/13 at 1:31:34 firefox did a security update from version 24 to version 25. At that time my system may have been doing a backup to a usb drive. In checking other problems on my system that has to do with video hesitation I looked at the version of firefox. When I go to about help section is says I am on version 24. When I click the look for updates, it says a newer version is available. I click to download and it fails. No error message. When I go to the troubleshooting information page and look at the update history. It says that version 25 was installed and is pending installation. How can I get the new version installed? I have a lot saved bookmarks and am afraid to just install the new complete version. Any ideas on what i can do? Appreciate the help.

I am having a similar problem. Firefox downloads the update, "Installs", and after that it says that I need to restart the firefox. I restart firefox, but it says that the partial update was not applied, and will download the complete file in order to update.

After that, it restarts, and says there were problems to perform the update.

When I try to perform a fresh install it says extracting and then the program disappears and does nothing.

Hi Heavenly_King, sometimes the Windows installer will get a number of pending updates backed up and stop working correctly until you restart Windows and clear the queue of deferred updates. If you haven't shut down and restarted Windows since this problem occurred, I suggest trying that.

Greetings. Firstly firefox failing to properly update, and not have and sort of resolution is nothing new. Mozilla, and Netscape has had a long history of dodgy update, poor page rendering, and being as slow (or slower) than glacier on tar- hence it's nickname 'nutscrape' I am also experiencing several issues directly related to firefox . For me 'update 26' flatout did not work, and as far as I can tell the last few updates haven't gone well. None of -Gmail. -Bing, Amazon Google (for searches) G+ Youtube (that's my short list) Work. At. All. I can pove this is unique to firefox for at least 'update 26'- Those webpages for sure will with seamonkey. You can also prove it by way of using something from around V22.

If you can: Us a previus version of firefox. I don't know for sure if that'll messup your set-up. Up to 20 you could have two different versions of firefox installed on the same computer without any conflicts.

Hi x3n0xm, please start a new question at the following link, and include your OS, add-on, and setting information (you'll be asked to install a new extension to gather this).
