I received a notification to update an Adobe product that is commonly used by internet users daily. After installing, the actual product download failed but now when I open Firefox and Internet Explorer it directs and goes to NationZoom. I go into options and type in yahoo to open program or a new tab and it goes to NationZoom. How do I get rid of it? I found that NationZoom's parent company is Violeter Technology Limited when I did a Google search. NationZoom has it taken over my browsers and the URL I get every time I open up a browser is http://www.nationzoom.com/?type=sc&ts=1386393134&from=tugs&uid= FUJITSUXMHZ2320BHXG1_K61ET8C2A5LUT8C2A5LUX

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox and I still get the same problem.

Please help, thanks Raymond

You probably will need to check many settings of your browsers. I can give you the article devoted to manual removal of browser hijacker - http://www.system-tips.net/guide-to-fix-browser-redirection-and-remove-browser-hijackers/ You don't need to run any program. Just perform manual steps, this should help.

Please take care when reading instructions on other websites.

Instructions from system-tips.net mainly seem reasonable and useful however they often include a step involving their paid for software.

There are nearly always alternative methods of completing such steps either with free software or simple manual steps.

And (for Windows OS) tools listed from the above article.

Ensure the tools are up to date, and use them all, as no single appliction catches everything, and once malware or adware has been present for any length of time there are often multiple issues.

hello Raymond, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by malware on your pc - please try these steps:

  • go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc).
  • also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there
  • run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

Hello RaymondHay,

it seems that we both got infected by the same virus, it's a real pain! However, it seems that I finally managed to remove it from the system. First of all, I uninstalled Nation Zoom with a help of these steps:

1. Click Start -> Control Panel -> Programs (or Add/Remove Programs) -> Uninstall a Program. 2. Here, look for Wsys Control, Extended Protection, eSave Security Control, Desk 365, Nation Zoom browser protection and similar entries and select 'Uninstall/Change'. 3. Click OK to save the changes.

Once you finish it, you also have to fix each of your browsers. You need not only to change default search engine and start page settings. You also need to remove malicious extensions. Here is how you can do that:

Close firefox window. Remember and delete where ever you have placed the shortcuts for firefox. Click start menu, search firefox, right click the firefox link > Properties > in Target field just keep the firefox location. Example (mine is ) - "I:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe", Delete other records of Nationzoom present after " symbol as i have submitted in this figure.

Well the same hijacker had infected into my computer. I tried googling how to remove the same. What I got everywhere was some websites' links that were claiming to remove this "nationzoom" by running their antimalware tools.

Well guys I tried all those but none worked. Then I myself found the solution; I'm here sharing with you:

1) At first delete all the browser shortcuts you're having on your screen, start menu and taskbar.

2) Now for chrome go to C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application here you must find chrome.exe application double click it and if the "nationzoom" page opens up then go to Settings and Click on "set pages" there you change your homepage nationzoom.com to google.com Also in the settings only change your omnibox search engine to "google.com" Now close google chrome and restart it through the same C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application location only. The nationzoom must disappear now!! Now right click on "chrome.exe" and click "create shortcut" now paste this shortcut to desktop, and so on create shortcuts on your taskbar and start menu.

3) Follow the same steps with Firefox and IE.

4) For Firefox if the same doesn't work then follow these steps: Open Firefox Click on "Firefox" button on the top left and then "Help" then "Trobleshooting Information" now on top right you must click "Reset Firefox" On clicking "Reset Firefox" if it opens up a window/pop-up to check some options, make sure you check all those strictly and go ahead. Nationzoom must disappear now.
