How do I disable AdChoices please?

more options

I want to disable AdChoices, but when clicking on the help section on Firefox options, it says I may lose my bookmarks and other stuff. Is there a way of deleting AdChoices without any risk to any data?

Firefox > Add-ons. On the left side of the window; Extensions. Look thru the list to find AdChoices and select Disable. Then, using several of the anti-male-ware programs below, run a full system scan.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

I don't have AdChoices in my extension list, yet they started appearing again several days ago. How is it coming through if it isn't an extension and how do I get rid of this junk!
