Firefox with Earthlink Webmail; Cannot send functional links
When using Firefox with Earthlink Webmail, a link typed into a message is not identified in print as a link, and does not operate as a link.
Internet Explorer+EarthlinkWebmail: Links included in written messages function properly
Earthlink support seems to know nothing of the problem and is unable to provide any solutions at all.
I like Firefox very much and am displeased that I may have to go back to IE
I would like to hear comments on this subject.

This is likely a limitation of the JavaScript code used by websites to automatically create a hyperlink that works for IE and possibly Google Chrome, but doesn't support Firefox.
In that case you need to look for a button on the button bar (toolbar) above the editor text area where you compose the new mail message to create a live, clickable, hyperlink.
There is usually a button bar with buttons to format text like Bold and Italic just above the text area where you compose and edit the message text.
That toolbar may have a button to turn a text link into a clickable hyperlink (look for a chain like button).
You can select the link text and click that button to turn the link into a clickable hyperlink.
If you can't find the button then hover them all to check the tooltip of each (e.g. Insert hyperlink).
Thank you, but there is no toolbar element to access hyperlink format. I would believe that if "they" would have had that function, they would have inserted the "button". I am becoming convinced that the mail program simply will not work properly with Firefox.
Lastly, again as I mentioned, Earthlink Webmail "links" work properly with IE as the browser.
