I want to pin some of my regularly used websites to the FireFox Taskbar. I drag them from my Bookmarks drop down list to the FireFox Taskbar and they pin just fine. The problem is, they show the website address, not the name I changed it to. Internet Explorer, bless it's outdated, scandalous soul, let me do it.

Here's a 'for instance' that may help: I Bookmark a webpage located at www.TomJonesTop1000Lyrics. I don't like that long address in my Bookmarks so re-name it simply "Tom Jones." When I dragged that Bookmark to my IE Taskbar to pin it there for easy right-button access, it showed Tom Jones. When I drag it to my FireFox Taskbar to pin it there for easy right-button access, it shows the whole website address.

Now this fictitious example doesn't sound like such a big deal but what I'm actually trying to pin are webpages inside a Customer's Website that are three and four deep so the address is VERY lengthy and I can't tell the difference between them when they're pinned on the FireFox Taskbar.

How can I make the 'pinning' accept my terminology and not the web address?? I cannot believe that IE has a more functional, user friendly option than FireFox. Come ON! Tell me it ain't so!!!

Thanks for the help in advance. I am running Windows 7 on this machine. If that matters.

Hello,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions and some Preferences.

  • Open websites will not be saved in Firefox versions lower than 25.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.
