My objective is to sort my Thunderbird email accounts (not folders). However, it seems that the manually-sort-folders add-on is what is being recommended. When installing the add-on "manually-sort-folders-1.1-tb.xpi", I get an error message saying that the add-on is not compatible with Firefox 35.0.1. When trying to change prefs.js or use about:config, I cannot find any reference to "account1" as a starting point (I have 3 accounts). What is going on?

I have partially solved my problem by making my main account (which appeared at position 3) the default. This moved it to the top.

You want the add-on in Thunderbird. So why are you installing it into Firefox?

I can't recommend the approach where you edit prefs.js. It's too easy to break things.

Hello,

You could change the order of your accounts in the folders pane by modifying your prefs.js file as described in this thread. If you have trouble figuring out which accounts are assigned to which account numbers in prefs.js, or if you try changing the order of accounts in prefs.js but the order displayed in the folders pane is not what you expected, see this thread for further information.
