I have version 42.0 Firefox on iMac running Maverick OS. It does great on most web sites. But Metromile's web page for Account monthly statement shows weird font or characters and is totally unreadable in fFrefox. I can see it fine with Safari or Chrome. Other pages on Metromile site are fine with Firefox. Your program would not allow me to attach tiff or pdf screenshot file, but I can provide it separately.

Type about:preferences#content<enter> in the address bar. Across from fonts and colors, press the Advanced button. On the bottom, turn on Allow Web Sites To Choose Their Own.

You can check for corrupted and duplicate fonts and other font issues: http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/multipleappsquit.html - Font Book 2.0 Help: Checking for damaged fonts http://www.creativetechs.com/iq/garbled_fonts_troubleshooting_guide.html

The Choose Their Own options was already checked. I can imagine I may have some corrupted fonts, but both of the links you included took me to general webpages, so I guess the specific articles you cited are no longer available. Do you have a current pointer to how to check fonts?

You can right-click and select "Inspect Element" to open the Inspector (Firefox menu button or Tools > Web Developer) with this element selected.

You can check the font used for selected text in the Font tab in the right pane of the Inspector.

Font inspector says font family is Sans Serif, but does not specify a specific font.

I have a screen shot in .tiff and .pdf, but your support page will not let me upload either file type. Size is 180 kB

OK, Here is a screen shot taken from Firefox as you suggested.

Sans Serif means that Firefox uses the default sans serif font as set in the Mac OS settings. Firefox might have a problem with this font or isn't able to find it. You can try to set a different default font.

You can do a font test to see if you can identify corrupted font(s).

You can try to clear the font cache.

The link in that page to Font Book 2 Help is broken (it goes to a general Apple Support page), so no help there.
