Had to wipe Mac when hacked, and reinstall new OS. Did full backup prior. Did full restore, but Firefox and Word was missing. Downloaded Firefox several times. Now when I click the icon I get the install window each time I use it, and have to click on the app box in that window, then have to go through verification ("an app downloaded from the internet"etc....) before I get the search screen. Also get a question mark on my dock where the Firefox icon shows up after all this, after shutting it down and rebooting each time. Do you know what I have done wrong? Why didn't Firefox restore with the complete backup?

Hello EllenJ, after dragging Firefox to the Applications folder, did you try to hold down the control key while clicking in the window and select Eject "Firefox" from the menu ? Now open your applications folder and drag Firefox to the dock. Any luck ?

thank you
