I have setup IMAP connection to my email provider. When I compose messages and try to save drafts while offline, Thunderbird will not let me save the drafts as there is no connection to the email provider server and to the draft folder. Is there an easy solution to save drafts while offline?

Designate Local Folders/Drafts as your Draft folder for the IMAP account.

How do I do that? I have Local Folders -folder, but there is only Trash and Outbox -subfolders.

Maybe it cannot do anything with 'Drafts' because there is no mbox file to save it in.

Do you synchronise the imap account 'Drafts' folder for offline use ?

Is 'Offline' settings set to synchronise/download automatically when going offline? 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'Advanced' > 'Network & Disc Space' tab click on 'Offline..' button Download messages for offline use when going offline? select 'Yes' click on 'OK' click on 'OK'
