When logged into my Load and Go account in auspost.com.au, the transaction Search button for a selected date range does not work when I am using Firefox. I simply greys out. No error messages are invoked.

However it does work when I login using internet explorer with the resulting transactions being correctly displayed.

Is there something in my Firefox settings that I can change to remedy this issue

Bummer  !

Would you go over this article, please - and you can of course skip the part about 'Extensions' and 'Hardware acceleration'.

Hi  ! 'Hope this helps :

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages: You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files. Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button or press 'Ctrl + F5' or press 'Ctrl + Shift + R'

Another thing to try : Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

Clear the Cache:

3-bar menu => Options => Advanced => Network => Cached Web Content :
"Clear Now"

Remove Cookies from sites causing problems:

3-bar menu => Options => Privacy => Cookies : "Show Cookies"

If the above doesn't do the trick, then let's try Firefox in Safe Mode : If Firefox is not running : Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox. If Firefox is running : 3-bar menu => ' ? ' (at the bottom of the dropdown) => 'Restart with Add-ons disabled'. Then OK the restart. A small dialog should appear. Click 'Start in Safe Mode' ( not 'Refresh' !)

See : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

You will need to restart Firefox for this to take effect so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.,) and then perform these steps:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and select Options (Windows) or Preferences (Mac, Linux).
  2. Select the General panel.
  3. Under Performance, uncheck Use recommended performance settings. Additional settings will be displayed.
    Fx55Performance-disableHWA
  4. Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
  5. Close Firefox completely and then restart Firefox to see if the problem persists.

If the problem is resolved, you should check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in these Knowledge base articles:

Any change  ?

Hi Happy112

Thanks for replying. Sorry it has taken me a few days to get back to you. Life got in the way. Have followed your instructions step by step with the following results:

1. Clear the Cache: Found this under Options => Privacy and Security => Cached Web Content. Cleared Cache – no change still didn’t work. 2. Remove Cookies from sites causing problems: Unable to find Show Cookies anywhere in the Options – My browser is Duck Duck Go and as far as I can tell all cookies are deleted on closing. 3. Safe Mode Yes this worked the button works properly in Safe Mode (with add ons disabled). However, I do not want to have to use Safe mode for one site if possible. Does this mean that one of the add ons is causing a problem? They are: • Open H264 Video Codec provided by CISCO systems inc • Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc • Shockwave Flash 4. 4.Disable Graphics Hardware Did not work

Hi again Jo  !

These three are built-in plugins.

Do you have any extensions  ?

Options => Add-ons => Extensions

If so : would you disable them one by one and see if you can find the
culprit  ?

Annoying when you can't get things to work, eh  ?

Hi Happy112

Shame but this did not work either. The 20-20 3D Viewer - Web is disabled and only option is to remove it. But I just left it there.

At Least I know the button works in Safe Mode. Weird eh?

Well I now confirm that the issue was fixed by: first refreshing Firefox. The Auspost Button then WORKED

After changing back to my usual search engine (DuckDuckGo) followed by dozens of and logins and logouts I found it worked with the following settings:

Tools=>Options=>Privacy and Security=>"History" select "Remember History" => "Use Custom Settings for History" and IT WORKS. (The default was "Remember History" which worked) I was also able to clear the cookies here.

However, selecting "Never remember History" once again stops the Auspost search button from working!!!

Other selections included Deselecting "Remember Search and Form history" , "Never accept third party cookies" and to "Clear Cookies on closing" and it still works.

Hope this is of some help to the others experiencing this issue.

Happy112 your blood is worth bottling!

Thank you so much for your help Jo

Firefox 42+ has a Tracking Protection feature that is enabled by default in Private Browsing mode. Firefox can show a shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar that some content is blocked by Tracking Protection, click the shield icon for more information.

You can disable this feature in "Options/Preferences -> Privacy" or via the about:privatebrowsing page that get when you open a New Private Window.

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy: "Use Tracking Protection in Private Windows"
