Last week firefox lost my passwords. They reappeared at the weekend. They have again disappeared. Anyone any ideas? Firefox 60.0.1
I have checked to see if that there are both key3.db and logins.json files(which there is, and also a key4.db in the same folder as key3.db) but still no success. Strangely on starting Firefox, it does ask me for my master password, which it didn't previously, only when I first accessed a site requiring a password.

Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

It could be the key4.db or the logins.json file is corrupted.
You said the key3.db file is still there, yes? Rename the key4.db file to key4.db.old while Firefoxx is closed.
Is the problem still there?
Are you using Sync to sync passwords?
To FredMcD Yes the key3.db file is still there. I have renamed the key4.db file to old as you suggested, booted Firefox, no difference, and it has put another key4.db file there. Thank you for trying.
To cor-el. No I am not using Sync. Thank you
