I've implemented Firefox ESR in my organization starting with version 68.4.2. I've enabled auto-update and that works fine but only for the workstations where users actually use Firefox. Workstations on which Firefox has never been started it's not updated. I would like to configure auto-update Firefox in such a way that every workstation gets updated regardless if people use it. What's the point of auto-update if you have to manually trigger it? I could deploy (with SCCM) the latest version to all the workstations that not have been updated but i want the auto-update to handle that for me. Any ideas?

Unfortunately we don't have a way to do this right now. We are currently developing the ability to update Firefox when it is not running.

Firefox will check for an update the first time it is run and users will get update immediately.
