Just got the Firefox update to 79.0.5 and Firefox Nightly 200828 06:01. I cannot find a way to disable the search option when typing in the address bar. Nightly does have the about:config enabled. Variables keyword.enabled, browser.fixup.alternate.enabled and browser.search.suggest.enabled have been set to false. There is no way to delete all of the search engines. Any suggestions?

Menu, settings, search, delete all search providers? There is an option to delete search providers on the option button.

@rsiswara,

That's what I hoped would work, but, at least on Android, the delete search provider works for all but the last remaining search provider.

Why would I want to delete all search providers? I just don't want autofill to put bookmarks or history into the address bar when I am typing an address into it.

Apologies, I misunderstand. Underneath the search provider there are options to toggle whether you want search from bookmark etc turned on. Have you tried that?
