Hi every time I open firefox it prompts me for the master password Mostly I am not going to a site that requires a password but am typing into the search box and as I don't need to watch what I type some of it ends up in the master password. I start typing way before firefox displays the master password prompt. I also do not see why I must supply / expose the master password when I only go to a password site about 5% of the time Can somebody please change the browser so that it only prompts for the master password when I am on a site for which I have a saved password I am sure I am not the only person experiencing this annoying delay

Are you using Sync as this is a possible reason to ask for the Primary Password at startup ?

Using Sync is a possible reason to ask for the Primary Password at startup. This is because the credentials to login to the Sync account are stored in the Password Manager and you need to enter the Primary Password to unlock the passwords.
