thunderbird starting up issue
I updated to Thunderbird 91.x.x several weeks ago, and now, every time Thunderbird starts, I get an error message "Either there is no mail client or the current client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client." See attached file. If I press OK or the X to close the window, I have to do this 18 times and then Thunderbird starts up normally. I have not mentioned this before thinking that it would be solved in more recent release but that has not happened. I am running windows 7 and do have Thunderbird set as the default for the programs it can open.
About the same time, Thunderbird published a note that it was adding a PDF function. This works, and opens the PDF but after 5 seconds Thunderbird crashes every time I open a PDF... and I have to go through the process described in the first paragraph to get Thunderbird restarted again.

More info ... IF I move the PDF from the email to my desktop, and open the PDF from that location, Thunderbird does not crash but Thunderbird does crash everytime that I open the PDF within an Email.
To clarify the above, when is says "Please run Outlook and set as default client", I am running Thunderbird, and NOT running Outlook so don't see the relevance of the message.
So, instead of having the PDF open in Thunderbird (default), I changed it to open in Adobe, and now Thunderbird does not crash after 5 seconds but I am still having the start up issue where I have to close the alarm message (see attached message window - above) and have to close the window 18 times before Thunderbird starts up and runs normally. This happens every time I start up Thunderbird.
It may help to know more about your email account. Is this an Exchange account? The error message gives the impression that it may be.
Yes, using "ExQuilla for Exchange"
I've had good use of ExQuilla, but not recently. Was this PDF addon by ExQuilla? I ask that because TB has long supported PDF. Somehow, ExQuilla is not connecting properly with Exchange. My initial approach, lacking any facts, would be to do a clean install. That may be overkill, and it reflects my lack of knowledge on Exchange details.
I have ticked the box in Thunderbird to open the PDF's in Adobe ... so, Thunderbird does not crash now. I am okay with using Adobe. However, every time I start up Thunderbird I have to click the message box that says "please run Microsoft Outlook" and set it as the default mail client". I have to close this message box 18 times, and then Thunderbird starts up and runs normally. Now that I do the PDF thing as noted above Thunderbird does not crash, and I can almost live with this but nice to get it resolved ... thanks for your input.
I have also gone to Windows "default" programs, and confirmed that Thunderbird is set as the default eml program.
Bug 1722256 indicates this is "probably" something to do with address books.
Open the config editor and search for ldap_2 Do you have any "blocks" of ldap server entries that do not include a filename
Thanks Matt ... I looked but not exactly sure what I am looking for. I have searched as you suggested and looked. Then saved the results and also searched for "block" and saved the results which i have included. I was not able upload the EXCEL file so converted to PDF and was not able to upload them either. The form only seems to allow images to be uploaded. Maybe these would mean more to you than me if I could get them to you. Thanks for your time. Jim
