That is a Mobile device (like a cell phone) version of that Yahoo website. Drop the "m" from that URL and see how the page looks.

Nope still fails using http://www.yahoo.com/ a number of other pages have the same problem

Try clearing your cache:

1. On the menu bar, click Tools|Options

2. Click the Advanced Panel

3. On the Network Tab , click Clear now

Test for the problem

In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings". See "Firefox connection settings" in Server Not Found - Troubleshoot connection problems

You can find the connection setting here: Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy'
