Can't bookmark same page in multiple folders
I've discovered that unlike in FF2, I can't save a same bookmark in two different folders. When I save the bookmark to a different folder it disappears from the first one it was in.
There are instances where I like to have bookmarks in multiple folders. Is there a fix for this? (Other than going into the library and copy/pasting bookmarks manually)

Hi JohnD2,
This is something that isn't fixable. It was on purpose, to prevent you from bookmarking multiple pages. We're sorry.
It may not be possible to bookmark in the way you are trying. It is however very easy to bookmark into duplicated folders or to duplicate bookmarks; as you are apparently aware.
I have recently posted in two threads, one had a problem because of unintentional duplications
The other had the problem you have, the solution is to work from the bookmarks library; that does allow you to duplicate bookmarks, you can not only move them but you can also copy them.
- link to thread "Bookmarks are not synchronized between bookmarks-sidebar and bookmarks-menu/library"
- link "Where to enable double bookmarking?"
You may also be interested in looking into firefox's features regarding smart bookmarks, including the dynamic search feature and the ability to tag bookmarks. I would have thought in most cases; because of the other features; it would not be necessary to duplicate bookmarks.
You should also be aware:
- there are many addons available regarding handling bookmarks
- firefox v4 is in beta, and you can try it out without removing your current version (but remember to set up a separate profile) you may be interested n how that handles bookmarks.
I will try and add the general links another day (I do not have my own bookmarks synced properly on this machine)
I think firefox has got the balance correct. The other poster suggests the change was a deliberate decision.

You can do a Copy & Paste in the Bookmarks Manager (Shift+Ctrl+B) to create a copy of a bookmark.
You can also drag the website's favicon on the left end of the location bar to a folder into the Bookmarks menu drop down list or to a folder in the Bookmarks side bar (Ctrl+B) or onto the Bookmarks Toolbar.
In the side bar you need to click to the left of the icon to prevent Firefox from opening the bookmark.
