The Java Runtime environment is deactivated so I can't play games on Yahoo; how to fix?
The Java Runtime environment can be downloaded at cnet dot com and at other websites. It is necessary to install the Java Runtime Environment in order to play games provided in the Yahoo Games area. It worked fine until I upgraded; now it won't work. Not sure how to enable it, that is, if it is possible to simply enable it.

You do not appear to have Java installed.
- You can look in Add-ons > Plugins to see if you have something similar to Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U25 6.0.250.6 (the numerals may be different). If you do, click on it; if it shows a button "Enable", click on the "Enable" button. If you do not see Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U25 6.0.250.6, skip steps 2 and 3 below, then follow the instructions below to download and install Java.
- Then press the Windows logo key+R, the Run dialog box will open. Enter javacpl.cpl in the box and click OK. When the Java Control Panel opens, click the Advanced tab, click on the "+" to expand "Default Java for browsers" and be sure there is a check mark for "Mozilla Family". Then click the "+" to expand "Java Plug-in" and be sure there is a check mark next to "Enable the next-generation Java plug-in". Exit and restart Firefox.
- If you have the above Plugin, after you "Enable" it, then you can use the Java Test link at the bottom of these instructions to verify that it is being recognized and is working.
Install or Update the Java plugin to the latest version.
- Download site: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html (Java Platform: Download JRE)
- Be sure to un-check the Yahoo Toolbar option during the install if you do not want it installed.
