I keep trying to change my cookies setting but as soon as I close it out, it revert back to the previous settings. How do I correct this so that make changes will stay?

I followed the directions to change my cookies settings but every time I click okay and close it out it reverts back to the previous setting of remember history. how do i fix this so that the settings iI choose will stay?

That is OK.
Firefox only shows the "Use custom settings for history" setting if at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made.
If all History settings are the defaults then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".
"Never Remember History" means that Private Browsing is active and "Always use private browsing mode" gets a check mark.

The default cookie settings mean that all cookies are enabled.
Did you check the exceptions to be sure that you aren't blocking cookies?
