The stock browser allows me to disable search history. Firefox mobile does not even have the disable option. HTC Mytouch 4g. The google options are different on both browsers.

Hi,

In Firefox mobile v10 you can install an add-on to clear your history, go to the Add-ons in your Preferences and search for 'Cleary' to find it. Then, after you install Cleary, you will have the option to clear your history on the main Preferences screen. See this article for more details and let me know if this doesn't solve the problem you are having.

Clear your browsing history and other personal data on Firefox for Android

I have added both clear history and clear personal data. These also do not stop it from still popping up. The clear personal history clears all your preference data and you have to reconfigure after you clear it. Clear history does not stop the past searches from popping up as soon as the search box is clicked on. I think it is an issue with firefox because the embedded browser allows you to disable it. I like the firefox browser with the exception of the "old" search searches popping up. Thanks for all the help.
